INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSSIUM ON GEOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENT Istanbul, Turkey September 1-5, 1997 The Environmental Geophysics session will focus on the application of surface, borehole and airborne geophysical techniques to environmental problems. Topics covered include natural hazard and waste disposal investigations, groundwater resource and aquifer vulnerability assessments, mapping of (organic and inorganic) contaminant plumes in the subsurface and location of buried objects. There will also be contributions reviewing state-of-the-art data acquisition systems, and novel dat processing and modelling for improved near-surface characterization.
