VENUE --------------- * Research School of Earth Sciences Australian National University, Canberra TARGET AUDIENCE --------------- * users of geomagnetic information * providers of geomagnetic data * investigators who study the Earth's magnetic field. SCOPE ----- All aspects of geomagnetism, including: * behaviour and origin of the Earth's main field * magnetic compass corrections for navigation and direction-finding * magnetic observatory science * magnetometer calibration * magnetic field survey satellite missions (notably FedSat*) * production and use of global and regional reference field models * long-wavelength crustal magnetisation * the magnetic anomaly map of Australia * external magnetic fields - origins and effects * geomagnetic induction studies * electrical conductivity structure of Australia * high frequency geomagnetic variations and their effects * indices of geomagnetic disturbance * diurnal corrections to aeromagnetic data * magnetic signals generated by ocean currents, waves, and swells * geomagnetic hazards to communications, ground, and space systems * biomagnetism and impacts of magnetic fields on humans. COST ---- A registration fee of approximately $30 will be charged to cover the cost of light refreshments and minor benefits. A dinner will be held in the evening of Wednesday 26th April, at a cost not exceeding $40 per person.
